The clients who embrace building a foundation before they add volume, intensity or complexity are surprisingly the ones who progress the fastest. Skipping important aspects will violate strength and conditioning principles that have stood the test of time. For example, progress into kipping pullups before you can do a few strict pullups and we see an increased risk for shoulder pathology. Get a strong squat without a strong single leg base and you increase the likelihood of hip or knee issues. Walk before you run.
