
Tim is a dedicated public safety worker and in his 19th year of military service. In the Austin community he is best known for his incredible pictures and always amazing wedding videos. He knows first hand the importance of functional physical preparedness and finally found a routine to stick with at CrossFit Central and RedBlack Gym.
After a year of living in Austin and one season of training for triathlons, with no consistent strength training, Tim was ready for something new. Like many athletes, Tim struggled to stick with a regular routine and needed new goals and accountability. He began working out in an indoor class at CrossFit Central and when the opportunity arose, took a spot alongside elite CrossFitters in the Garage Gym as RX class at RedBlack Gym.
“Prior to CrossFit my body fat was around 12-14%, After a year with CC & RBG I was 10-12%, but had about 10 more pounds of lean mass on me.”
After two years, CrossFit has become the core of Tim’s fitness programming. He now understands that to reach his physical goals he must supplement his CrossFit routine with running and swimming. I am always working to improve my stamina and have to make an effort outside the box to achieve my stamina conditioning goals.
“Great coaching is what distinguishes CrossFit Central and RedBlack Gym from the majority of CrossFit affliates in the area. There is a wide-range of coaching styles and athletes need to find a coach or combination of coaches that will best meet their individual needs. I have been working out with Mike Wichester for almost 18 months. Because of our smaller class size in the GGRX class, he is able to provide a high level of attention to athlete’s technique. He has a thorough knowledge of our strengths and weaknesses as well. Lastly, he holds his athletes accountable.”
Tim lost 4% body fat & gained 10 pounds of lean muscle.
