A Smoothie Without the Sugary Crash?
WRITTEN BY Amanda O'Brien

Whether you are looking to get lean or gain weight, "The man shake" is the perfect balance of protein, carbohydrates and fats to keep you satiated without a sugary crash!

Ingredients:

Nutrition Info:

Totaling 636 calories, this smoothie can be used as a meal replacement for those struggling to consume a balanced meal in the morning and/or for those who don’t have time to cook a big meal before work. Onsite training client Whitney Wehmeyer uses this concoction as a meal replacement in the morning before she drives to work at 6:45am. Doing this has allowed her to increase her total protein consumption as well as balance her energy levels throughout the day.

The high fat and protein content allows blood sugar to remain balanced through the mid-morning and early afternoon. This can be a useful tool, not only for those looking to lose body fat but also for those who require a sharp mind in the workplace.

Unlike Whitney, remote coaching client Nick Fleher uses this recipe in the evening as a booster for his total caloric intake as he tries to gain weight and build strength.

Two different individuals using the same recipe to support their varying goals—we love the “man shake” and we think you will, too!

As with anything, you can individualize this shake to meet your personal objectives. The body is such a complex organism; just as there isn't a one-size-fits-all approach to fitness, the same goes for nutrition.
